“I love shooting with him, and he loves me, and he loves shooting with me,” Emmy nominee Williams tells PEOPLE

Jessica Williams can’t help but share her admiration for Shrink costar Harrison Ford.

The 35-year-old Emmy-nominated actress tells PEOPLE that while the 82-year-old actor’s busy schedule doesn’t leave the costars much time to spend together outside of filming, they do enjoy shooting the AppleTV+ series together. to take.

Just like Shrink was wrapping up production on Season 2 — and with only a few days of filming left — her costar asked her, “What’s your deal?” Williams finally got a little personal with the Hollywood icon and told him some details of her life.

“It’s funny because it’s like coming from a place of love. I know he really likes me and loves me,” she explains. “I can see it, I can see it.”

She says it’s completely ‘okay’ that the Indiana Jones star doesn’t spend much quality time with her off-set. “We make each other laugh,” she says. “I love shooting with him, and he loves me, and he loves shooting with me.”

“He’s going to do it like a Marvel movie and Indiana Jones for seven months somewhere, you know, whatever,” she says, laughing. Ford has been working on this over the past year Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate, Captain America: Brave New WorldAnd Yellowstone precursor, 1923.

Daily show alum Williams adds that the famous actor also enjoys bird watching and flying planes. “I think that’s great for him,” she jokes. Williams also says it’s “always fun” when she sees him and his wife, Calista Flockhart, at parties.

Ford is not alone Shrink cast member with whom Williams has a good rapport. She tells PEOPLE that part of the series’ success is due to the chemistry of the entire cast.

“It’s like everyone can work together,” she explains of her costars, Jason Segel, Ted McGinley, Michael Urie, Christa Miller and Lukita Maxwell.

Shrink Segel plays Jimmy Laird, a single father grieving the sudden loss of his wife while navigating his friendships with Gaby (Williams), Liz (Miller), Derek (McGinley), Brian (Urie) and Paul (Ford).

Williams also says that working with Segel, the show’s co-creator, has been “a lot of fun,” noting that he has her back “no matter what.”

She notes that she has kept an eye on Segel throughout his storied career. “I thought I was watching (Judd) Apatow stuff in middle school and high school,” she explains. “I really love Apatow’s school.”

Meanwhile, Segel has also celebrated Williams’ comedic style, comparing her to his frequent collaborator Paul Rudd. She admits that every time she hears that, she blushes and feels “very embarrassed.”

“I don’t know if there’s a bigger compliment to get from that man,” she says. “It just doesn’t get any better. He’s worked with so many people, and he’s been doing this for a while… So it just means a lot.”
