Chargers Bengals Week 11 Game Recap

The Chargers held on and pulled through in the clutch on Sunday night a 34-27 victory about the Bengalis Sunday night football.

Here are five takeaways from week 11:

Something special is seeping into the Chargers.

Moments after the Bolts held on and pulled off a thrilling primetime victory, the Bolts’ second-year linebacker offered a clear perspective on what Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh is building in Southern California.

“This is a different team. It’s that simple,” Henley said. “This is a different team. This is not what the Chargers have been or what the fans here are used to.”

Henley later added, “And the best part about it was that we came together.”

Rashawn Slater said, “Resilience, poise, mental toughness, that’s the culture here right now.”

The Bolts moved to 7-3 this season, Harbaugh’s first at the helm of the Chargers.

And while his team held a 21-point lead that eventually dwindled to a tie early in the fourth quarter, it was the Bolts who walked away victorious at SoFi Stadium.

“Just because we lost momentum didn’t mean they had it,” Harbaugh said. “We’re going to get him back. The boys didn’t flinch, they didn’t nod, they didn’t even stumble. They just kept going.”

“I thought all three phases … we were at our best when our best was needed,” Harbaugh later added.

For a while on Sunday night, the Chargers’ seventh win almost felt like a lot of their first six.

The Bolts used Justin Herbert’s MVP level and an elite defense to build a double-digit lead at halftime.

Only this time, a desperate Bengals team clawed its way back… only for the Bolts to let the door close.

The Week 11 win tied the Chargers’ smallest margin of victory so far this season.

“Blowing them out would have been nice,” Joey Bosa said. “But I think it’s important that our team gets one done.”

Bosa later added: “There’s been a lot of games over the years where we’ve been put in that position and come up short. So I’m just proud of everyone… winning is what matters.”
