Angelina Jolie poses with son Knox, 16, in rare red carpet appearance

Angelina Jolie enjoyed a star-studded night out with her son.

On Sunday, November 17, the Mary the 49-year-old actress walked the red carpet at the Governor’s Awards in Los Angeles, California, bringing her 16-year-old son Knox along for a rare red carpet appearance for the mother-son duo.

Jolie wore a long cream and gold dress and posed arm-in-arm with her son, who wore a shaved head and a black suit, accessorized with a black bow tie. The two smiled for the cameras as they walked the carpet before heading to the event.

The actress shares her six children with ex-husband Brad Pitt, 60 – Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.

At the end of October, Jolie said during a conversation whether her children wanted to follow their parents into the film industry E! News at the AFI premiere of her new film Mary in Los Angeles. The mother of six said she doesn’t expect any of them to become actors or want to be famous.

“No, I think they’re mostly shy, very private people,” she told the outlet, adding, “They want to be private.”

At the premiere of her film in New York, Jolie walked the red carpet with three of her children – Pax Zahara and Maddox – wearing a white vintage Madame Grès dress from Mon Vintage in Paris, paired with Cartier jewels and Aquazzura heels.

Zahara wore a white YSL dress with Tom Ford heels, while Pax wore a gray Dior suit and Maddox wore a black YSL suit.

Earlier this fall, Jolie opened up in a new interview with CR fashion book that she and her daughter Vivienne got matching tattoos during their special time working on the Broadway musical The outsiders.

“I got ‘Stay Gold’ with my daughter Viv during our time with The outsiders,” Jolie revealed. The phrase references the title of one of the original songs from the play that Jolie co-produced with the help of Vivienne, as well as a line from the book written by SE Hinton.

“It means so much to us individually and together,” she continued of the tattoo, which she debuted in April during the Broadway play’s opening night.

The tattoo sits among the other ink on the actress’ wrist, although she did not specify where Vivienne’s version of “Stay Gold” is placed.
