Geno Smith’s game-winning drive highlights Mountaineers in Pros Week 11

The NFL season brought many big games in Week 11 with teams including former Mountaineers.

However, Geno Smith’s game-winning drive marked a big weekend for former Mountaineers as they head into the final month and a half of the season.

Geno Smith

For the first time in his career, Geno Smith has defeated the San Francisco 49ers.

Smith led Seattle on a game-winning drive, finishing with a 13-yard rush for a score with just seconds left as the Seahawks went on the road to beat the 49ers.

“I was there laughing on that last drive. I was walking across the field, it kind of felt like angels in the outfield. I had someone rubbing my shoulders the whole time, and I just felt like there was no pressure. I think the perspective I have the winnings that I’ve earned over my career allows me to pay that way,” Smith said after the match.

Smith’s stat line ended with him throwing for 221 yards and an interception, but he had 29 yards on the ground on four carries, including two crucial rushes on his final drive.

The Seahawks are now tied at three in the NFC West, just one game behind the Arizona Cardinals, who they play at home this Sunday.

Rasul Douglas

Rasul Douglas and the Buffalo Bills hosted the Kansas City Chiefs and looked to break their undefeated record. That’s exactly what they did when they defeated the Chiefs 30-21.

Douglas has three total tackles in a game where the Bills were able to get behind the Chiefs on defense at times. Buffalo improved to 9-2 this season and is the clear division leader in the AFC East, trailing the second-place Miami Dolphins at 4-6.

Beanie Bishop and Zach Frazier

The Steelers also had a big game this weekend, facing the Baltimore Ravens at home.

The Steelers were able to shut down the Ravens, beating them 18-16 and improving to 8-2 on the season.

Frazier finished the game with an overall grade of 71.0, ranking him fifth in Pittsburgh’s offense. Bishop finished the game with four total tackles, which helped him achieve a coverage grade of 73.2, according to PFF.

Colton McKivitz

The 49ers were on the wrong end of a losing effort against the Seahawks.

McKivitz again played all snaps on offense for San Francisco. They are now 5-5 on the season, with back-to-back games against Green Bay and Buffalo next.

David Lang Jr.

It wasn’t the best week for David Long Jr. as he was waived by the Dolphins earlier this week. He had seen a demotion from defense to special teams in recent weeks, making 25 career appearances with the Dolphins.

Day soaking

The Arizona Cardinals had a bye week this past week, which means Dante Stills and Kyzir White will be back in action this weekend when the Cardinals take on the Seahawks.
