Cowboys starter suffers major injury in first half against Texans

The 2024 season did not go smoothly for the Dallas Cowboys. They look to end their four-game losing streak against the Houston Texans in Week 11.

They are already without quarterback Dak Prescott for the rest of the season, but they also lost another starter on the offensive end early in the game against the Texans.

According to Todd Archer, tight end Jake Ferguson is out for the game with a concussion. The third-year tight end appeared to enter the concussion protocol sometime in the first quarter and was quickly ruled out.

Ferguson missed just one game this season due to a sprained MCL he suffered in Week 1. This season, he has recorded 42 catches for 358 yards and 8.5 yards per catch.

Before leaving the game, he had one reception for 11 yards.

The Cowboys are already without Prescott, so losing another starter isn’t ideal for the team. Head coach Mike McCarthy needs to come up with touches for his top playmakers to make things easier for quarterback Cooper Rush.

With Ferguson out for the match, the pressure on CeeDee Lamb and the rest of the playmakers around him only increases. This is a game where McCarthy has to dive into his tricks and create explosive play.

When you lose quality starters in the team, the coach has to step up his game and mask the loss. That’s what Dallas needs to get this win and get back in the win column.
